BASS: SF Dubclash party features UK’s Caspa & Rusko
Edited Press Release

On Saturday, April 5, SureFire Productions and Full Melt Recordings join forces to present Dubclash, a sublow party of historic proportions at San Francisco club Jelly’s. The headliners of the night are the mighty Caspa & Rusko, two of dubstep's biggest producer/DJs. Also, the local line-up is a who's who of the San Francisco dubstep and dub scenes including Ripple, Sam Supa and other talents.

Caspa (25-year old Gary McCann) and Rusko (22 year old Chris Mercer) are considered part of a new breed of dubstep talent, sweeping the deep furrows of ground laid bare by peers like Digital Mystikz, Iration Steppas, Kode9, Skream and Benga, mixed with their own jump up comical party fresh and somewhat relentless sound.

Coming together from Leeds and London with mutual loves of dub reggae, drum'n'bass, hip hop, and as fans of their own scene, Caspa & Rusko have been DJing and producing for just a few years, yet have been representing the dubstep dream the globe over as music fans from all corners draw them into a constant stream of performance and release requests.

Caspa & Rusko are hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed DJ mix, FABRICLIVE37, recently released in February. Caspa & Rusko definitely recognize a crossover between the dub reggae, garage and drum'n'bass scenes and pull the best elements from each to make the sounds and sets they do, injecting this breath of fresh air into their selection for FABRICLIVE 37.

Having chosen a new generation of artists from all around the world, picked because of their tried and tested audience reactions, this mix is as true a testament to the sound this duo emanates as it is to the sound of now.

If that wasn't enough, the local line-up is a who's who of the San Francisco dubstep and dub scenes. Jelly's Nightclub provides the perfect "Spring in San Francisco" with it's indoor and outdoor performance areas. The "inside stepper dons" include Matty G (Argon Records), DJG (Narco.Hz, Noppa, Pressing Issues), Ripple (Full Melt), and Sam Supa (SureFire, Grime City, Brapdem).

The "outside forces of nature" consists of Kush Arora (Surya Dub), Coup D'Ville, The Spit Brothers, Luddub, and J. Suave. With their first performance together since 1992, your MC and hosts for the night are Seattle's DJ Collage (aka Mr. Chatman) and MC Zulu (Riddim Killah).

The show happens at Jelly's from 10 pm to 4am on Saturday, April 5. Tickets are $10 in advance. Jelly’s is located at 295 Terry Francois Blvd in San Francisco. This is a 21-and-up event.
