Elmore Leonard launches 43rd novel 'Road Dogs'
Famed literary crime novelist Elmore
Leonard today launched his latest
novel "Road Dogs" (HarperCollins imprint William Morrow) at the Lincoln
Square Barnes & Noble in New York City, where he kicked off a six
city tour. Road Dogs has Leonard's trademark tight plot and snappy
dialogue, and includes several characters longtime Leonard fans will
recognize from his prior novels.
After bank robber
Jack Foley -- from "Out of Sight" -- gets his 30-year prison sentence
reduced to 30 months he joins his prison companion Cundo Rey on the
outside, living it up in one of Cundo's Venice, CA, houses. Here he
cavorts with professional psychic Dawn Navarro (from "Riding the Rap"),
who is now Cundo's girlfriend with a slightly ulterior motive for
staying with Cundo: namely, she wants his money. Meanwhile FBI agent
Lou Adams lurks on the sidelines, waiting to catch Foley robbing banks.
HarperCollins sent out a press release marking Leonard's 43rd novel
with a link to the first several chapters that fans can read for free here.
Leonard's book tour, focused on the East Coast and Midwest, includes
