Marsal Lyon Literary Agency opens shop, reps genre fiction and NF
In the latest case in which literary agents departed from an
established house to form a new venture, Kevan Lyon and Jill Marsal
have left Sandra Dijkstra
Agency to start up Marsal Lyon Literary
Agency LLC. Authors will be interested to know they've also put out a
call for submisions.
Jennifer Haupt, author of "The
Valley of Ten Thousand Hills" and a Lyon client, made the announcement
at Backspace
and said the new agency just launched their website this week. Here are
the genres Marsal Lyon

For electronic submissions, please send a query letter to query (at) marsallyonliteraryagency.com
and write “QUERY” in the subject line of the email.
For hard copy submissions, please send the following:
Fiction Query: please include a cover letter, 1 page synopsis of your
work, and the first 10 pages of your manuscript.
Non-fiction Query: please include either (a) the cover letter or (b)
the cover letter and your complete proposal.

In all submissions, please include a contact phone number as well as
your email address. If we are interested in your work, we will call or
email you. If not, we will respond via email. (Accordingly, please do
not send a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) and do not send any
pages or materials you want returned to you). Our response time is
generally 4-8 weeks. We welcome unsolicited materials and look forward
to reading your work.
