BASS: NYE 2009 blows up San Francisco with House, DNB, Dubstep

Every New Years Eve, San Francisco hosts some of America’s most decadent parties with world renowned DJs, awe-worthy visusals, and impressive sound systems. Kaskade, Ghislain Poirier, and Plastician are just some of the global DJs who have embarked upon The City to perform at NYE 2009 events. Meanwhile Drum & Bass-heads are heading to Lower Haight for an event with a fashion show and local DJs.

Ruby Skye announced that Kaskade headlines its New Years Eve extravaganza with a bevy of House music DJs including San Francisco’s Trevor Simpson, a massive reception style dinner from 8 pm to 11 pm, champagne toast at midnight with a storm of confetti, acrobat performances, and a 4 am brunch at the San Francisco club’s 18,000 square foot, two-level ballroom.

A second room will have Jungle and Hip Hop with Jonathon Williams and Foley spinning sets. Limited tickets for the whole night are available for $110 with after-midnight tickets at $65. Ruby Skye is located at 420 Mason Street in downtown SF. Click here for more details.

Meanwhile, Full Melt, KONTROL, Big Stereo, Mad Decent, 1015, Ninja Tune, an-ten-nae and Get Freaky present a New Years Eve Revolution @t the new 1015 Folsom, where one of the most diverse and cutting edge musical lineups for NYE will be spread over four distinct dance floors, and encompassing 12 hours of music starting at 9 pm and going till 9 am. Just some of the DJ spinning sets in 1015’s main room include Diplo, Jesse Rose, an-ten-nae, NYC’s Sub Swara, Ninja Tune’s Ghislain Poirier from Montreal, and a special New Years performance and countdown with Beats Antique of The Yard Dogs.

Upstairs, Full Melt is hosting a Dubstep room with three of London's leading artists together for the first time in North America. Plastician, MRK1 and Kromestar will perform with local talent Ripple, The Antiserum and Sam Supa performing early sets.

This party is $55 at the door. There are VIP tickets for $75 that include Champagne Toast, private entrance on 103 Harriet Street, and In & Out Privileges. Check out the 1015 website for more information. The club is at 1015 Folsom Street in SOMA.

In SF’s Lower Haight District, party promoter Reflex is putting on a free NYE party at Nickies with local Drum & Bass and Electro DJs Sharp, Munk and Eskae spinning sets and MC Zezo hosting. This event, which rolls from 9 pm to 2 am, will also feature a fashion show collaboration by Joji Designs and Lower Haters as well as strictly the best in DNB, Hip Hop, Electro and Reggae. Nickies is located at 486 Haight Street.

Progressive House DJ Morgan Page headlines Pearl NYE 2009 at SF club Bambuddha Lounge, which includes a poolside courtyard and two rooms of House, Hip Hop and Mashups. Nick G, Eddie Santana and Jeff Morena are among other DJs performing. Of special interest for those of you who like to drink till you drop, the Pearl party’s cover charge includes an open bar all night. It also features hors d'oeurves, midnight champagne toast, party favors, and access to all three areas of the party including the poolside courtyard. Live dance visuals performed by The Sexy Ladies of Desired Temptations. Tickets range from $65 to $85. Bambuddha Lounge is located at 601 Eddy Street.

In SF’s North Beach, DJ Gravity, DJ Bootz and DJ Spam play the "Wildest" New Years Eve 2009 at Horizons on the Broadway Strip. In addition to music, this party features gold, silver and black decor, erotic GOGO dancers, Laser shows, a balloon drop, champagne and party favors. Tickets range from $35 to $100 depending on package. Horizons, located at 498 Broadway, hosts their NYE party from 9 pm to 2 am. Their dress code includes no sneakers or sports attire.
