Book tour kicks off Susan Wiggs new novel ‘Just Breathe’
Bestselling author Susan Wiggs
has released a new novel, "Just Breathe" (Mira), that the publisher
notes
is about big themes such as love, loss, second chances, and facing the
past in order to create a new future. In Just Breathe, protagonist
Sarah
Moon returns to the hamlet of Glenmuir, California after suffering a
devastating divorce.
As it turns out,
sleepy Glenmuir is the last place Sarah believed she would ever end up.
A sharp-witted comic strip illustrator, Sarah thought she had escaped
Glenmuir and her family’s oyster farm when she married Jack Daley, a
handsome and successful Chicago real estate developer, right out of
college. But after twelve unsuccessful artificial insemination attempts
and a devastating betrayal, Sarah goes home to lick her wounds, just as
her comic strip alter ego, Shirl, follows a similar path on the page.
There Sarah reunites with her family and an old high school crush as
her past and present collide. And in the midst of reinventing her life,
she discovers she’s pregnant -- ironically, with her ex’s twins.
Susan Wiggs, who is now on a semi-national book tour in support of Just
Breathe, seeks once again to demonstrate the power of the human spirit
to overcome adversity and start life anew in her latest novel. Susan
has received three RITA awards from the Romance Writers of America
(RWA), numerous other literary awards, and has spent considerable time
on the NY Times Bestsellers list.
Susan will make at least one California appearance during her book tour
-- this Saturday, September 20 in Sacramento -- when she is the
featured speaker at the Reader Appreciation Luncheon at the city’s
chapter of the RWA. The event takes place at the Holiday Inn
Sacramento, located at 5321 Date Avenue, from 10 am to 3:30 pm. Contact
info: 916-425-9357.
